A day in the life and home of a child in an informal settlement.

My name is Chris, I am 10 years old and I live in an informal settlement. Everyday I face problems and today was no exception and I am going to tell you about my day. When I woke up at three thirty in the morning I went outside to the tap about three hundred meters away and waited in the line for water for about thirty minutes, on the way back I cut my feet a lot on all the glass and metal, I just wished I had in door plumbing so I could wake up at six in the morning so I don’t have to wait in any lines for fifteen minutes everyday and I could wash myself in a shower or bath before school. After I gave the water to my mom I needed to go to the toilet desperately so I went towards the nearest toilet and once I got there loads of people walked past me while I was on the toilet, I just wish the toilets had doors so people could not see me. The Singing Inspector

My name is Charles Recently I was inspected by a singing inspector called Mr Raymond. He had knickerbockers on and they were huge. He had big blue eyes and I think he disliked us. When it was my turn to sing I sang with my friend Benny. We didn’t know any songs so Mr Raymond shouted at us in a roaring voice. The whole class was looking at us as if we were idiots. I said that we can sing Pretty Polly and he said we must sing it. I sang in a deep voice while Benny sang in a high voice. When we were done he shouted at us saying we don’t belong in a singing class and he never wants us to sing again and sent us out. After we left it didn’t sound like we were the only ones he was going to send out.

My Trip Too Dubai

When I was on the plane it I felt a bit scared during the middle of the flight because it felt like it was wobbling so my mom sat next to my brother and I. when we landed and got out it was so hot. my brother and I thought it was just because the planes wheel was rubbing on the ground because it landed so fast and then my brother and I asked if it was because the plane landed or is it just the hot temperature and she just said "A bit of both" and we walked out on to the landing place it was on and they told everyone to get in a bus so we had to hold on to these handles on the roof I just held onto my mom because I could not reach the handles. When we got into the airport it felt so much better it felt like the air conditioning spray onto you and we got lost when we got there, then we went into this one door for people who is going to England but then we realized there was no sign for baggage collection so when we found baggage collection we got our bags and we saw my dad he c

The Grade 4 Camp

Two weeks ago we went on camp. We went to Simonsberg Christian Center.  But before we got there we stopped at Giraffe House.We saw all types of animals there.They had snakes, goats, turtles, giraffes and llamas I fed a llama and a goat my teacher put a tarantula on her head.  When we got to the camp the staff there said hello and welcome.We unpacked are stuff and went into dorm 5, the people I slept in the same dorm as were Alon, Ethan, Kian, Daniel, Kyan. There was a forest and are teachers showed us around the place and then we swam.After swimming we just played around a bit then we had supper did a night hike and went to bed.On day two I got up around quarter to six.We played in the forest for an hour and a 25 minutes.Then a someone fell on a wasps nest and we had the wasp incident.I think 6 kids got stung but around 1 o'clock everything was OK. We did 3 activity's the carpet walk and a thing where we got some shapes and had to make a shape but using all the other shapes,
